Experience the enchantment of Kosher-French Cuisine by Olivia Ostrow in Miami’s Hip Buena Vista neighborhood.

Three decades of culinary experience

The world-renowned French chef brings three decades of culinary experience to this new project. Her passion for French cuisine, Kosher cooking techniques, and front-of-house expertise sets Chef Olivia apart as a triple threat in and out of the kitchen.

Olivia’s culinary journey began in her native France, where she learned to cook as a teenager. Her father, Daniel Binn, was a businessman, art collector and foodie, who introduced his daughter to the world of fine dining. The budding chef further explored the fundamentals of French cookery from a family friend, who was the chef to Jacques Chirac, the former President of France. Weekends were spent in the countryside in Périgord, where Olivia was taught how to stuff geese and make foie gras.

In the ‘90s, the family moved to Greensboro, North Carolina. The young go-getter graduated high school when she was 15 and attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she earned her MBA. Simultaneously, her father opened a French restaurant called Le Rendez-Vous. Olivia and her father worked together at the award-winning brasserie, where she incorporated traditional American and French influences into her cooking, while learning the business side of the industry.

New techniques in every country

Next, Olivia honed her craft by traveling the world and acquiring new cooking techniques in every country she visited. A stint in Israel, where she made aliya, created a lifelong love of Mediterranean flavors and fresh, local ingredients. While in Israel, she also learned the art of Kosher cooking.

A few years later, America beckoned once again, and Olivia brought her gourmet skills to kitchens across the country. In the 2010s, she launched “O’s Gourmet Catering,” an international catering company situated on Florida’s Treasure Coast, where she earned several prestigious awards, including “Best Dessert in the Treasure Coast of Florida,” for three years in a row. Finding success in Jensen Beach, she debuted two restaurants, O’s Café and O’cean Café, which were immediate hits.

Cooking segments on ABC, NBC & Fox

Chef Olivia’s charisma, talent and humor made her a natural for TV appearances. She has been featured on cooking segments on ABC, NBC and FOX. In early 2020, she was a contestant on Guy Fieri’s Food Network show, “Grocery Games,” where she had 30 minutes and $15 to shop for, cook and plate an international dish for the judges.

However, due to Covid, like so many in the restaurant industry, Oliva had to close her businesses. And while it was a devastating decision, she pivoted to Miami, where she had the opportunity to work alongside renowned restaurateur Stephen Starr. The collaboration with Starr provided her with valuable insights into the intricacies of restaurant operations, including menu development, ingredient sourcing and creating memorable dining experiences.

Building on her training, Olivia transitioned to the role of Food and Beverage Director at the prestigious Savoy Hotel in South Beach, where she seamlessly blended her culinary mastery with strong leadership skills, overseeing the kitchen staff and ensuring flawless execution of her international dishes.

Chef Olivia also contributes to Kismet magazine. Her articles offer readers a glimpse into her creative process, providing insights into her cooking philosophy, favorite ingredients and tips for aspiring chefs. Olivia's ability to articulate her culinary vision has earned her a loyal following, establishing her as a trusted authority in the food industry.
